The Hungry (Luke 14:15-24)

We can be invited to a lot of things, particularly in the Christmas season. How we respond to the RSVP typically reveals what we value. If we respond “no,” it most often demonstrates that we found something more important than going. Our “no” was because of a higher “yes.” If we feel compelled to respond “I’m coming,” sometimes it’s not always true. We may not want to go, but feel obligated to please the boss or not upset a friend or family member. We can say “yes,” but our hearts aren’t in it. In this Christmas season, we believe God is inviting us to His table. What’s your RSVP? And what will it require of us to say “yes"? What do you get out of it? Is it worth saying “no” to some things to give Him your higher “yes”?
