Watch Your Mouth (James 3:1-12)
“Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” Could anything be further from the truth? My guess is that there were ugly words spoken over you in your childhood that still ring in your head today. “You’ll never be good enough!” “If you could only lose a few.” “You’re the black sheep of the family.” “You’ll always be a failure.” Some of these hit too close to home and have the capacity to keep us in a sense of bondage. As we continue our series, “This Is What We Do,” James tackles this head on and shows us that our words carry weight. How are you using them? Are you a source of life or death to those around you?
