Love and Be Loved (Revelation 2:1-7)
Why church? Why does the church exist? Why does it matter? Why should people be a part of a local church…. These are great questions that many people are asking in our post-Christian culture. Both Christians and non-Christians alike. The church was created to be a spiritual family dedicated to bringing glory to God through applying biblical principles, caring for one another, and being a conduit of the good news of Jesus to the outside world. Sounds great, but that message is not getting through to many. And the younger generations are increasingly seeing the church as judgmental, hypocritical, known for things they are against and detached from real needs in the community. What happened? Over the next 7 weeks we will dive into the Seven Letters to Seven Churches in the Book of Revelation and see what Jesus wrote to those seven different churches in Asia and how Jesus defines what a church should and should not be. How are we measuring up? This is a great series for those people in your life that you care about but are not part of a local church. Invites some of them to come with you this Sunday as we begin with the words to the The Church at Ephesus. A church that was amazing but had one fundamental flaw.
